EWOS Quality Assurance

EWOS’ standards ensure that our feed is made to a consistently high quality that our customers can trust. We place a high emphasis on feed quality and food safety and hold several prestigious quality assurance accreditations. EWOS are regularly audited and have full legislative compliance and traceability throughout our systems.

We ensure our raw materials are purchased from approved, fully audited suppliers and feed products are regularly tested during and post production.

 

EWOS UK is certified under:

 

ISO 9001  : 2000  Quality Management

ISO 14001 : 2004  Environmental Management

ISO 22000 : 2005  Food Safety Management

 

All feed produced at EWOS UK is manufactured under the conditions of the AIC Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS) - as independently accredited by EFSIS.

 

For those interested in EUREPGAP / GLOBALGAP compliance, UFAS is benchmarked and cross-compliant with the ‘Compound Feed Manufacturer Reference Module’ of EUREPGAP/GLOBALGAP. EWOS meets these requirements

 

UFAS is recognised as meeting the requirements of the European Feed Manufacturers Code of Practice (EFMC)

 

According to the requirements of UFAS, all of our raw materials must are purchased from suppliers who operate under the conditions of the AIC Feed Materials Assurance Scheme (FEMAS), or mutually recognised assurance schemes.

 

Organic Accreditation

 

EWOS harmony feed and EWOS boosterfeed are certified for use in organic systems.

 

EWOS Ltd. has accreditation for the production of EWOS harmony feed under the Soil Association scheme and  EWOS harmony OFF feed under the Organic Food Federation scheme. EWOS harmony Nature range of feed is also certified under the Naturland scheme

 

Label Rouge and TQM

 

EWOS Ltd. is certified by Food Certification Scotland Ltd. as an approved supplier of Label Rouge and TQM compliant salmon feed.

FAME Makes Her 200th Feed Delivery

EWOS’ feed ship, the MV Fame celebrated her 200th feed delivery recently. The Faroese ship, crewed by captain Leif Torensen and his staff made the voyage leaving Ayr docks, delivering to Lighthouse Caledonia’s sites on Loch Fyne before heading north.

Feed as a Tool in the Management of Sea Lice

EWOS Spotlight is an occasional, international publication from EWOS that discusses topical issues relating to fish feed in some depth. In this edition, the SpotLight is put on feed as a tool in the management of sea lice. Good control of sea lice is critical to the future sustainability of the salmon farming industry and EWOS has an active programme to secure access to in-feed anti-sea lice treatments and supportive compounds (such as EWOS boost) for the salmon farming industry.

EWOS sponsor Unst charity fly fishing event

Over 25 anglers took part in a charity fly fishing event on the Shetland island of Unst recently. The event successfully raised £1586 for the Teenage Cancer Appeal. The competition started at 8pm with the weigh in at 8am the following morning hence taking advantage of “Simmer Dim” on June 20th/21st where between about midnight and 2am the light is more than adequate for fishing.
