UK-grown beans to reduce imported soya and fishmeal for salmon

A consortium of UK scientists and industry partners has been awarded co-funding of almost £1.3 million from the Technology Strategy Board for a research project that could provide major benefits to the salmon industry in the UK and Ireland and improve sustainability of terrestrial farming. The four - year project led by EWOS, involves five other industrial partners: BioMar Ltd, WN Lindsay, Limagrain, Marine Harvest (Scotland) Ltd and Harbro Ltd, along with five academic partners: The Universities of Stirling, Aberdeen and St. Andrews, The James Hutton Institute and the Scottish Agricultural College.

Opening of a New Feed Storage Facility in Mallaig

A Last Minute Winner for Glenelg AFC!

Glenelg AFC received a monetary donation from EWOS in the final minutes of their 2010 season. The team, which plays out of Glenelg village on the West coast of Scotland and whose season runs from Spring to Autumn, will use the contribution towards new equipment and an upgrade of the playing surface, as well as spectator shelter (a prerequisite for highland fixtures!).

Stirling MSc Students Visit EWOS

EWOS recently played host to Masters degree students from the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling. The diverse group of 32 students from 22 different countries spent the morning touring the factory and were given an overview of feed production technologies and some commercial insight into the local and global feed industry.
