Per Olav Skjervold
Managing Director

 

 

Per Olav Skjervold holds a doctoral degree at the Norwegian University of life Scienses where he worked with aquaculture and food science as Associate professor, and coordinator of university food science program. He is an awarded entrepreneur with several patents and start-ups in aquaculture food industry, and biotechnology.

 

He is board member of national and international governmental funded research programs,  and had worked as head of innovation and marine research at tine Norway`s Largest dairy industry (TINE) before becoming MD of EWOS Innovation in 2004.

Jan Vidar Jakobsen
Manager Resources

 

Jan Vidar holds a Cand. Scient in biology from University of Bergen and have previously worked with aquaculture development of marine species and development of protein raw materials for the feed industry. He has worked in EWOS Innovation for the last 14 years.

 

 

He is involved in research areas like general nutrition, raw material evaluation, freshwater and grower feed development, method development, sustainability and food safety.

Adel El Mowafi
Manager Functional Feed and Fish Nutrition

 

Adel is a veterinarian and holds a PhD in Fish Nutrition from NIFES. He has more than 20 years experience in animal and fish nutrition research, and has worked in both academic and industrial environment in three different continents. He holds an adjunct professor position at the plant and animal science department, Nova Scotia Agricultural college in NS, Canada since 2000.

 


He has worked in EWOS Innovation for the last seven years and is Manager of Nutrition and Functional Feed.

Elisabeth Sivertsen Urdahl
Manager Human Resources and Organisation

 

Elisabeth has a background as manager in the Norwegian Church, the Military and the Hotel Industry. She holds a master in theology and has studied management and organisation. She has worked in EWOS Innovation since 2007.

Her main work areas are Human Resources, Organisation, Communication and Quality Management.

Javier Gonzales
Manager EWOS Innovation Chile

 

Javier is Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Chile. Obtained his PhD in Animal Science at the University of Nebraska, United States. Worked for 12 years as part time professor at the Veterinary Science Faculty (U.of Chile) and also in different national and international companies as a full time employee and/or as a consultant including Roche, AgroSuper holding, DSM, Alpharma, Bayer and Monomeros in poultry production and health.

Javier joined EWOS Innovation in 2004.

 

Javiers main areas of expertice are Poultry production, poultry health, salmon nutrition and health, teaching and research.

Karl Østerhus
Scientist

 

Karl holds a Master of analytical chemistry from the Univerity of Trondheim. He has previously worked in the oil industry and has been working as a scientist and managing the laboratory in EWOS Innovation since 2000.

 

His main work areas are managing the laboratory, and leading scientific method development projects. He also works with development, testing, validation and implementation of new analytical analysis tools.

Jose Vecino
Scientist

 

Jose is Spanish and hold an Honours Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences (University of Oviedo, Spain) and a Ph.D. in fish broodstock nutrition and nucleotides (UHMI/Open University; UK).

 

Jose is involved in the development and coordination of new functional feeds for fish. He focuses on fish health and fish microbiota as well as the potential application of dietary compounds that improve the fish health status and/or increase the utilisation of new raw material utilisation in fish feeds such as organic acids and prebiotics.

Kari Ruohonen
Scientist

 

Kari holds a PhD in Marine Biology in the University of Wales, Bangor, UK, in 1994. He has previously worked in the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute, Finland, as a Research Professor on various aquaculture related topics with a special emphasis on modelling, trial design and statistical analysis of data, and lead several international and national research projects.

 

“I am mostly interested in dietary macronutrient composition and its effects on animal feeding and growth regulation. I am also deeply involved in integrating nutritional information by various modelling techniques and improving experimental methodology and increasing our understanding of experimental data as the basis of decision making about animal feeds.

Simon Wadsworth
Scientist

 

Simon has more tha 20 years of experien ce in aquaculture and has worked in areas as Marine Harvest production operations, Seafish marine species, and EWOS Innovation functional feeds. He holds a Ph.D in fish health and nutrition.
He is currently working on oral delivery systems, oral vaccines and functional nutrients.
